BA Cabin Crew Strike

TVL
Bob

Many of you will have heard that BA cabin crew have voted to strike, negotiations are still ongoing however. Should the union representing BA cabin crew and BA's management, not reach an agreement, it is envisaged that the strike will take place between the 22nd of December and the 2nd of January.

We know how devastating this news will be to all those who it affects, it is the peak of the season and flights to every destination on every other flight is full or nearly full, therefore it is very unlikely that there will be any suitable alternative on which to re-book passengers.

There is a chance that the strike may be called off as negotiations are on-going, in the meantime BA are planning which routes will be affected. It is quite often the case that BA will initially cancel domestic flights, then European flights before they consider cancelling international flights. When BA tell us what flights are to be cancelled only then will we be in a position to give advice to our clients, so please bear with us until we have more information.

Here is what BA have released: -

"Customers who are booked to travel between 22 December 2009 and 2 January 2010 and for 48 hours on either side of those dates who would like to take their flight at a different time can change to another BA flight departing in the next twelve months at no charge.

If a customer's flight is actually cancelled because of industrial action, we will offer them the option to refund their ticket, rebook on to a different flight or reroute their journey on another BA flight."

We hope to have more information soon.
